In this position, you will be supporting the Ordnance Systems (OSI) Business at our Kingsport, TN facility. This position will be full time (40 hours / week) onsite at our Kingsport facility beginning in <strong>September 2026 through August 2027</strong>. Relocation may be offered, but housing is not provided*.<br><br><strong>As a Chemical Engineering Co-op, you will: </strong></span></span><ul><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Participate in a twelve-month assignment beginning September 2026 that will rotate within the facility through two different areas (Explosives Manufacturing, Acids Manufacturing, and Design / Project Engineering are options)</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Work as part of the manufacturing team and receive projects during each semester designed to give increasing levels of responsibility and exposure to the facility</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Getting exposure to a manufacturing environment, various engineering calculations, reading diagrams, interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Supporting manufacturing operations</span></span></li></ul></br></br><b>Required Education, Experience, & Skills </b></br><ul><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Must be a US Person due to the nature of our business</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Currently enrolled or recently graduated in an undergraduate program seeking a degree in chemical engineering or related field</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Completed at least 3 semesters of school</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Must be available for one year of full-time employment</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant field of chemical engineering</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Ability to work independently and as part of a team</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Experience with MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint</span></span></li></ul></br></br><b>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills </b></br><ul dir="ltr"><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Completion of the first semester of junior or senior year at the time of start of co-op term</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;">Experience with AFT Arrow </span></span></li><li><font face="Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Background in Safety Applications</span></font></li></ul><br><br><b>Pay Information</b><br>Full-Time Salary Range: $36540 - $49320<br><br>Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.<br><br>Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
