To view the eligibility and qualification requirements of a/n Energy Industry Analyst, GS-1101, please visit: Energy Industry Analyst You must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is defined as: substantial experience leading or supervising advanced technical and market analyses of wholesale electric and/or natural gas systems (e.g., market design, RTO/ISO rules or pipeline tariff structures, system reliability, transmission/pipeline planning and cost allocation, resource adequacy, tariff interpretation, or market operations); producing authoritative technical work products used by senior decisionmakers; experience with SQL/SAS/Stata/Python/R or other market modeling/large relational datasets; or conducting structured outreach with RTO/ISOs, electric and natural gas pipeline entities to inform analyses. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
