Interdisciplinary Environmental Management Specialist

Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. or Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. AND To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Specialized experience may include the following: Proving technical support and assistance to facilitate environmental regulatory compliance; Providing guidance, training, and mentoring to enhance the professional development of personnel; Executing remediation projects and activities for the management and remedy of real property environmental liabilities; Managing NEPA compliance requirements and other regulatory mandates for the protection and preservation of historic, cultural, and natural resources. Conducting compliance audits and assistance visits to support and enhance unit environmental compliance management programs; Conducting pollution prevention opportunity assessments and other initiatives to foster environmental stewardship. Serving as a contracting officer's representative (COR) for various projects and program activities. NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
